With all of the hoopla about President Bush's low numbers at the end of his Presidency, did you know that Jimmy Carter also finished at 34% approval rating?
It isn't that hard to figure out the approval rating game. It is impressive for Obama to be ranked as high as he is right now, but itwill be more impressive if he can keep it. In as divisive as the environment is, it is quite a task for anyone to keep an approval over 50%.
Legacy approvals are just as hard to figure out. Reagan continues to enjoy a rise in his legacy rating as time goes on. Even many Democrats rank Reagan as high. Bill Clinton although he left office with a high number in the 60's, that number continues to drop as time goes by. It will be interesting to see what Bush has in 4 years and beyond.
