MPS School Board Raises Taxes
Pictured to the right, Blewett went on the news and showed how he really wants to do what is best for the kids. He wants the best schools.
I don't know when this revelation came about. He and his cohorts on the Board have been ripping the citizens of Milwaukee off with trips and expenses and no oversight. When confronted they just blow us off.
Save me the BS, Mr. Blewett had you really been concerned what is best for the community you would have been showing us with your actions. What about the Trips where Board Members didn't even show up for the Conventions or Seminars? Or, the bill for one of the Members smoking in a non smoking room? The complete lack of accountability?

Who Pays the Most in Taxes?
see Story
Parts of the article I found profound that it was coming from MSN. It very accurately explained that the rich are paying more of the taxes than they where in 2001 when Bush took office and the poor are paying less than they were in 2001. If you listen to the rhetoric on the campaign trail Obama and the Democrats would have you believe that Bush has forced the poor to pay for everything and let the rich pay nothing.
In all honesty it is a real good article, worth reading.

I still want to know what is going on with the vote the Board had to fold the school district up?
Obama's Health Care Plan
What I heard in their own words was, Obama will force lower prices for Health Care. That sounds great. I could use the extra money that I would save.
Obama will force them to provide for preventive care. Sounds Great also. I could use some preventive care.
Obama will force them to provide for pre-existing conditions. Awesome, I can get things covered by insurance even if I have it before I get the care from them.
This Health Care Plan sounds fantastic. I can't believe that anyone would be bashing this plan. This plan will most definitively help all Americans. I should rush out and vote for this plan.
WAIT!!!! How is this really going to work? They have to provide me with a whole lot more coverage than they are providing me now, yet charge less? How? Are they making such a windfall off of us now that they can absorb the massive cut in income and the increase in expenditures? This sounds an awful like we are headed for a Health Care Melt Down very similar to the economic one we are now facing. The Plan will force providers out of business, unless the Government is going to help fund it. hmmmmmmmm!!!!

Rep. John Murtha in Trouble with Voters
The man from Pennsylvania who not so long ago got himself in trouble by bashing our own Marines for crimes that they were later acquitted of, now finds himself talking again.
He has called his own constituents racist. Then he thought better of it and went on to explain that what he meant was, they are not really racist, but slow, rednecks.
This is a man in touch with his people.
Obama Spend $2M on Election Night Celebration
I would recommend that the supporters for the Obama campaign who continue to receive the emails and phone calls asking for more money, continue to send it in. The Campaign is obviously in need of cash.

High School Girl lies about Racism
I believe that the Police and District Attorney are absolutely correct in filing charges against this young lady. Too many times we allow kids to get away with similar stuff, not even a slap on the wrist. We write it off to them just being kids.
After reading the story, I think that if you don't agree with the charges, then you just aren't being honest with yourself.
Consider the fact, that if this young lady wanted to she could of very easily accused any one of us of racism, assault, sexual misconduct, etc. We would have seen our whole lives flashed before the world in the news. Spent countless thousands of dollars defending ourselves in a court.
After they find out you are making the whole thing up, there is no wall to wall coverage of the wrong that the person did. No apology for ruining your life.
Hold these people accountable when they do dumb stuff.
ACORN Report questions legality
ACORN and Project Vote have said repeatedly over the last several weeks that they are seperate entities. When questioned about whether Obama did work for ACORN, the answer was no, he did work for Project Vote.
Now it is learned that up until the release of this report, the entire board for Project Vote was comprised completely of ACORN people.
This is an interesting story, and once again calls into question, what is ACORN really?

Is Voter Fraud an issue?
I don't know if there is a real problem out there or not, but it does make you wonder if things are headed in the right direction under these circumstances.
When you hear the person in charge of the elections in Ohio say that there are some 200,000 registrants that have an issue with them, but does not seem ready to address the issue to be sure that it will not turn in to voter fraud. Wouldn't it be just as important to make sure that this isn't going to be voter fraud as is to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to vote?
I am also trying to figure this whole get out the vote thing. Groups like ACORN, and Republican ones as well. They are out on the streets just signing people up. Does it matter that some of these people don't have a clue what they are doing. They don't know anything about the Candidates other than what that person signing them up is telling them. Would you or sign our names on the dotted line at a car dealership or mortgage office just because the person sitting across from us told us it was good for us. (Maybe that was a bad analogy considering the credit mess we are in, but hopefully you get my drift.) Howard Stern has a video where they went out and asked people if they were voting for Obama, if they said yes they asked them if it was because he planned on keeping up the war, again they said yes, then if they thought his pick of Sarah Palin as VP was good, and again they said yes. Isn't that a problem?
I don't know if all of it adds up to voter fraud, but it sure sounds like a problem. I guess it just wasn't good of enough, those of us who have voted all along. We haven't done a good enough job of picking our leaders so we must need help.
Poll of Military shows McCain by 3-1
A poll by the Military Times newspaper group suggests that there is overwhelming support for John McCain among U.S. troops in every branch of the armed forces by a nearly 3-1 margin.
According to the poll, 68 percent of active-duty and retired servicemen and women support McCain, while 23 percent support Barack Obama. The numbers are nearly identical among officers and enlisted troops.
Funds for Election Cloudy the Water
In the midst of this financial collapse of some of the biggest Wall Street firms, isn't it amazing that a dozen employees from the now defunct Goldman Sachs each wrote checks for Obama. How about the $30,000 contribution of John M. Noel, chief executive of Travel Guard, an affiliate of the insurance giant AIG.
The money trail will many times lead you in the direction the Candidate will go once elected. Although Obama has thrived on the small donations that are unreported. The $200 internet donations. These donors don't have to be reported by law, how easy could it be to come up with multiple names and donate multiple times to bypass those reporting rules?
McCain also received donations from Merrill Lynch including the CEO, Marvin Gilliam, an executive at Cumberland Resources, a Virginia coal-mining company where several top officials made sizable contributions to Mr. McCain, as well as Mr. Gilliam’s wife, Marcia; Joe Ricketts, founder of the securities firm TD Ameritrade; and Meg Whitman, former chief executive of eBay

Benedict Favre?
It seems that just maybe the picture is becoming clearer as to who had the bigger ego in the whole mess in Green Bay earlier this year. Maybe it was the almighty Brett Favre that had the ego that couldn't get over himself.
He made it a point to call Tony Romo and talk to him about his injury and didn't call his old back up QB in Green Bay?!
Now everyone is up in arms that he would go out of his way to call the Detroit Lions and spend 60-90 minutes on the phone with their coaches to assist them in how to defeat the Green Bay Packers. Sabotaging your old team!!! How about dropping a big old steaming bag of crap, right on the guys that you called your friends.
I haven't been much of a Favre fan since the whole I'm going to think about quitting over the off season, but will let you know, stuff all started a few years ago. I thought then that he could care less about the GB Packers and his team mates. Now I feel vindicated, he has proven my point to all those people that said I was wrong for not backing the almight Favre. Thanks Brett, I really needed your help on this one!!!!
Whitnall Senior Dies in Car Crash
It hasn't been that long ago that this same area had to endure the pain of losing a classmate in a car accident. Now, once again the healing will begin.

Live life to the fullest everyday, enjoy the things that you have and not to dwell on the things that you don't.
Obama had US Flag Removed from Plane
What American running for President of the United States would remove the symbol of his country? And worse, he replaced the flag with a symbol of himself...
This is all verified by Snopes.com
NOW THIS LITTLE TIDBIT WILL TAKE A LITTLE THOUGHT
I got this in my Email today and thought about it. Thought I would share it. -M
I get tons of this stuff, but I thought this was a good history lesson on what past presidents have done.

JOHN GLENN (on the Senate floor - January 26, 2004)
Some people still don't understand why military personnel do what they do for a living. This exchange between Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one man's explanation of why men and women in the armed services do what they do for a living.
This IS a typical, though sad, example of what some who have never served think of the military.
Senator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn):
'How can you run for Senate when you've never held a real job?'
Senator Glenn (D-Ohio): 'I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps. I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions. My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different occasions. I was in the space program. It wasn't my checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the daily cash receipts to the bank. I ask you to go with me, as I went the other day .... to a veteran's hospital and look those men ... with their mangled bodies ... in the eye, and tell THEM they didn't hold a job!
You go with me to the Space Program at NASA and go, as I have gone, to the widows and orphans of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee ..... and you look those kids in the eye and tell th e m that their DAD'S didn't hold a job.
What about Metzenbaum? For those who don't remember, during W.W.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney representing the Communist Party in the USA.
Now he's a Senator!
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English thank a Veteran.
Who will win, does it matter?
From all the polls and reports it looks as though the Democrats will increase their majority in both houses of Congress. This will allow them to push their agenda through. With a Democratic President it there will be no checks and balances on that. With a Republican President it doesn't appear that would slow them down much.
Does the President really have all that much clout when it comes to running the Country? Congress has to ratify almost everything that the President does. Republicans and Democrats alike have failed to tackle the big problems. They continue to blame each other and the President for everything bad in the country. Until we, the American People, get smart we will continue to see the downward spiral.
The idiots that we elect to these posts of Senators, House Reps, and yes even our Presidents spend all of their time trying to keep their jobs instead of doing their jobs. As long as we have Democratic and Republican parties, there will be the strong arming. If you don't with the party then you don't get the party support next election. Look what happened to Joe Biden when he went against his party. The went against him at his re-election. He had to run as an independent and won.
Is it right that people like the Speaker of the house decides what is best for all of us. This person represents one small part of our Country, yet in todays politics, they decide what their party will do. Each Representative and Senator should be doing what is right for their Constituents, not what their party wants to do.
So again I ask, does it matter who wins?
Did Brett Favre give away Secrets?
Has Brett been contacting opponents of the Green Bay Packers to help them put together game plans to beat his old team?
I don't know whether he has or has not. You can't always believe what you read. If he has, then this man has fallen even farther than I thought possible. I thought the whole game that he played this off season was despicable. The retiring, then unretiring, you owe me crap.
If it comes out that he truly did do this, then I think it is safe to say that the pedestal that he once stood upon will completely collapse.
Can you buy the White House?
Public financing, which restricts how much cash a candidate can raise, is meant to curb the influence of money in presidential campaigns. It was set out to keep special interests and lobbyist from pouring tons of money into a Candidates campaign where they would receive favors after their Candidate won.
Obama is the first major party candidate to opt out of public campaign financing in the general election since the law was enacted in 1971 and revised in 1974. This seems odd especially in light of the state of the Economy. Where is all of this money coming from? Obama's September take was made possible by more than 630,000 new donors, who contributed an average donation of just under $100, according to the Obama campaign. With the economy in the tank and everyone hurting, who can afford to throw this kind of money around? Is it normal, everyday, main street Americans making the $100 donations? Or, more likely the big boys looking for favors donating thousands, $100 at a time. That way it is off the radar. You don't have to report those small donations.
Is all of this money corrupting the fabric of Democracy in America?
