Brawl at the Mall

Some of the shoppers who showed up at Mayfair Mall last Friday looking for bargains, got a lot more than they bargained for. They found themselves in the middle of a brawl right in the middle of the mall.

The big-time brawl happened inside the "Wet Seal" teen clothing store at Mayfair Mall last Friday, one of the busiest shopping days of the year. It left the store in shambles and shoppers stunned. - WTMJ Story

Wauwatosa police say the video shows Areinio Green lunged at another man and punched him in the face. A fight that spilled into the store where a half dozen more people jumped in as store employees and customers looked on-seemingly in disbelief-before running for the door. - WTMJ

What is simply amazing, is that this is an ongoing issue for Mayfair Mall and the Police and the City aren't addressing it. Then today I heard that the Police only issued a City Citation for the incident which amounts to a small fine. What about the money the store loss in time closed to clean up the mess and any damages? With all the options to shop in and around Milwaukee, why in the world would anyone want to shop at Mayfair?

Happy Holidays

Well, I am back after an eventful Week of Holiday Cheer. We have a lot of catching up to do, so Hope Everyone had a great Christmas.

OWI Driver Kills Baby

Here we go again with the way that Wisconsin Judges deal with the problem of Drinking and Driving. I feel like a one legged man in an asskicking contest here. Does anybody get this? Is it just me?

WTMJ Story

I am not saying that I have never gone out and had some drinks and drove home, I have. Not the smartest thing that I have ever done, but just being realistic. Most people have. Most people also understand that there are consequences if things go wrong.

I know that if I get pulled over I will get in trouble, if I cause an accident it is my fault.

However, here in Wisconsin it seems I am consistently hearing about drunk drivers getting into accidents and killing people. Most of the time it is not their first time. You wonder how can people continue to do this and not be in jail.

Well here you go, a Fond du Lac woman who drove drunk and caused a crash that killed a baby has been sentenced to six months in jail. Six months in jail!!! You kill someone, a baby none the less, Six Months in Jail. WOW, now that is life changing punishment!!!! I know someone who got caught stealing from their employer and got sentenced to SIX MONTHS IN JAIL!!!!

It wasn't even like Shannon Baierl was just mildly drunk.

Deputies testified at an earlier preliminary hearing that Baierl's blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit. - WTMJ

I guess the Judge felt the 15 years of probation would be the real punishment.

MPS Schoolbard member Files Complaint

MPS School board member Tim Petersons has filed an official complaint with the board and wants Hardin reprimanded for the her actions at a taxpayer paid trip to a school security conference in Philadelphia last August.

See WTMJ Story

The MPS board will meet tonight and may consider a vote on censuring Hardin for her actions.

You gotta give it to Tim Petersons for at least having the guts to do something the rest of the board obviously is afraid to do.

PTA Official caught with 13-year-old boy

A New York PTA Mom was allegedly caught behind an elementary in the back seat of an SUV with a 13 year old boy.

Joan Tuckruskye, 44, and the boy were reportedly discovered partially unclothed in the parking lot outside Meadow Elementary School Friday night, according to Nassau County police. She allegedly told officers they were kissing. - FOX NEWS Story

They said that she was arrested then released with no bail. Can someone please explain that to me. If you or I were caught in the parking lot of a local elementary school with a 13 year old in our back seat partially clothed, we would be rotting in jail until trial.

Adolf Hitler is Alive!

Adolf Hitler Campbell, that is. Although he is only 3 years old, man is he making waves. Actually it is his idiot parents that are making the waves. Why in the world would you name your kid Adolf Hitler?

"Heath Campbell said he named his son after Adolf Hitler because he liked the name and because "no one else in the world would have that name." - FOX NEWS Story

Now his parents are complaining because somebody is refusing to make the boy a cake with his name on it. These parents are pretty out there if you ask me.

"
The Campbells' other two children also have unusual names: JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell turns 2 in a few months and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell will be 1 in April." - FOX NEWS

It Pays to retire in Milwaukee County

"Reddin collected a lump-sum "backdrop" payment of $976,499. He also gets monthly retirement checks of $6,070, or nearly $73,000 a year." - JSOnline Story

I guess 35 years should account for something. Deputy District Attorney Jon Reddin sure is set now. Almost a Million Dollar lump sum payout and then $73,000 a year!? That is our hard earned tax dollars at work here in good ole Milwuakee, Wisconsin.

That is pretty good for any family, but hang on, there is more. Not much more, but more.

"His wife, Mary, also retired from the county in October. A manager of the county's court information system, Mary Reddin got a $68,385 backdrop plus $2,263 a month, or about $27,000 a year." - JSONLINe

"Grand total for the Wauwatosa couple: $1.04 million upfront, plus $99,990 a year for life." - JSONLINE

Makes you wonder why our taxes are so high?

Blaming Bush

For the last few years, all I hear is that everything is Bush's fault.

The Economy is Bush's fault, the Iraq war is Bush's fault, everything seems to be Bush's fault.

Lets start off with the Iraq War. How many people out there think that the Iraq War was a bad idea? Why was it a bad idea? Was it a bad idea because there was no Weapons of Mass Destruction? I personally don't think it was a bad idea. I think that it was mishandled in the beginning, but I think it was the right thing to do. I don't care if there was or wasn't weapons of mass destruction. Here was a tyrant, killing his own people. He was ignoring UN Resolutions that were put into place to get him to prove that he wasn't creating any weapons of mass destruction. He ignored them and for the longest time the World did nothing. We need to show that there are consequences to your actions. If the UN is just all words, why in the world would anyone care. You have to put action behind those words. The War wasn't Bush's fault, it was Saddam's fault.

Everyone says Bush lied about the weapons. Seriously, you think that every Intelligence agency around the world just went off of what Bush told them. I highly doubt that, there was entirely too many other Countries that agreed to the War for anyone to think that this was all a figment of one mans imagination. There was evidence and Saddam refuse to follow the UN Resolutions so that it could be refuted, not Bush's fault.

Now lets figure out this economy thing. I know that Bush was completely responsible for the banks mismanagement. Some 3-4 years ago he called for more oversight on them and Congress ignored it. That is Bush's fault, he should have kicked, screamed, yelled, started a war with Canada, something.

It is said that the President of the US is the most powerful position in the world. Low and behold it sure as hell must be. Bush has single handedly ruined not only all of the American Financial Institutions, mismanaged the Big 3 Automakers, but he has also collapsed the economy in Countries around the world. WOW, now that is power.

Oh, and by the way, don't forget that he caused Hurricane Katrina, remember that was his fault as well.

More and More SNOW!!!

Here we go. First of all, what a wonderful weekend, highs in the 40's. Then what the !@#$ happened. I woke up and could not believe how cold it was. Now the snow is on it's way.

4-5 inches tonight and then again on Thursday a possibility of 6-10 inches. Come on!!!

Enough is enough. Winter is just getting going.

Modern Parable

I got this in an email and thought I would share-

A Japanese company ( Toyota ) and an American company Ford Motors decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri River . Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race.

On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile.

The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat. A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action.

Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person steering, while the American team had 7 people steering and 2 people rowing.

Feeling a deeper study was in order, American management hired a consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion.

They advised, of course, that too many people were steering the boat, while not enough people were rowing.

Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to prevent another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team's management structure was totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 2 area steering superintendents and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager.

They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 2 people rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the 'Rowing Team Quality First Program,' with meetings, dinners and free pens for the rowers. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes and other equipment, extra vacation days for practices and bonuses. The pension program was trimmed to 'equal the competition' and some of the resultant savings were channeled into morale-boosting programs and teamwork posters.

The next year the Japanese won by two miles.

Humiliated, the American management laid off one rower, halted development of a new canoe, sold all the paddles, and canceled all capital investments for new equipment. The money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses.

The next year, try as he might, the lone designated rower was unable to even finish the race (having no paddles,) so he was laid off for unacceptable performance, all canoe equipment was sold and the next year's racing team was out-sourced to India .

Sadly, the End.

Here's something else to think about: Ford has spent the last thirty years moving all its factories out of the US , claiming they can't make money paying American wages.

TOYOTA has spent the last thirty years building more than a dozen plants inside the US . The last quarter's results:

TOYOTA makes 4 billion in profits while Ford racked up 9 billion in losses.

Ford folks are still scratching their heads, and collecting bonuses...

IF THIS WEREN'T SO TRUE IT MIGHT BE FUNNY

Whitnall Middle School Helps Hunger Task Force

In a struggling economy where donations are needed more than ever, Whitnall Middle School students were able to donate more than 12,000 food items to the Hunger Task Force. - WTMJ Story

“Donations are down so this school drive is helpful, and it's very hopeful that it's coming from kids,” Sherrie Tussler, executive director of the Hunger Task Force said. - WISN Story

Lets hear for these kids. They made an impact in a tough economic climate to help those less fortunate. They didn't do it because they had to, they did cause they wanted to.

Good Job!!!

A Closer look at the US Auto Industry

"There are really two different U.S. auto industries. And only one part of it would have qualified for the bailout that was just rejected by the U.S. Senate -- the inefficient part that is headquartered in Detroit. There is another auto industry in the United States and it is healthy. While it is obviously going through tough times because of the economic crisis, it has not gone begging to Washington for taxpayer help." - CNN Story

"

Zakaria: Actually there are 12 international car companies that have manufacturing operations in the United States. Collectively, they employ 113,000 Americans directly -- even though that is less than the 239,000 at Ford, GM and Chrysler. However, those international car companies sell more cars than the Big Three and their customers love their products. They have millions of American shareholders. They do sophisticated work like research, design and marketing in the United States. All in all, they add jobs and high value to the United States.

CNN: So what are they doing better than the U.S. car companies?

Zakaria: It is simple -- better management. Yes, Detroit has problems because of its legacy costs, the cost of paying health care and pensions to its retirees. But many other Americans firms in other industries have had to change their benefit systems or die. Detroit always managed to avoid making the change in part because of government assistance.

But companies like Toyota, Honda, and BMW are not just skilled at cutting costs -- they make better cars. They have more flexible factories and production systems, and understand what American consumers want.

For example, Toyota and Honda are years ahead of American carmakers in designing and producing hybrid cars, and as consumer demand moves in that direction, they will reap the rewards." - CNN

This is what the American People are saying. Why bailout a portion of the Industry that has doomed itself? Anyone with an ounce of brains would realize, if GM and Chrysler go away, then companies like Ford, Toyota, Honda, and BMW will pick up the slack. It isn't like the whole Auto Industry will go away, people will still be buying cars. Production will pick up in the companies that are left and they will hire more people and the viable companies will thrive. Let those mismanaged companies die!!!

UAW Blames GOP

"This was just simply subterfuge on the part of the minority in the Republican Party who wanted to tear down any agreement that we came up with," UAW President Ron Gettelfinger - FOX News

Mr. Gettelfinger, maybe you should take a nice long look in the mirror and you will see the reasons for the failure of the Auto Industry in the US.

The GOP was asking the UAW to make concessions that will assist the Auto makers to be viable. And the UAW said they wouldn't make concessions until 2011. Well, then I guess the Automakers are ok. In 2011 come back and we will see if you need help then.

The saddest part is that now the White House is looking at using the original money from the Financial bailout to bailout the Auto Industry. President Bush needs to listen to what the American People are saying. If the people involved in the industry are not willing to make concessions, then we are not willing to bail their sorry asses out!!!!

Wonderful Winter Snow

Look at the snow fall. What a beautiful picture of the snow falling on a statue.

Wait a minute! That's the statue of Andrew Jackson in Jackson Square in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

That's right, good ole New Orleans got an inch of snow today. Some parts got up to 8 inches. For all of us up here in Wisconsin, what's the big deal. The big deal is that they are not set up for that. They don't have plows and salt trucks.

Schools were closed and it has created quite a mess.

Senate Republicans stall Bailout

"A deal on $14 billion in aid to Detroit's Big Three automakers fell apart Thursday night in the Senate despite intense negotiations on Capitol Hill between lawmakers, union officials and representatives from the three companies." - FOX News

"Republicans, after reviewing the latest version of the proposal in a closed-door meeting, balked at giving automaker federal aid unless their powerful union agreed to slash wages next year to bring them into line with those of Japanese carmakers.

Republican Sen. George V. Voinovich of Ohio, a strong bailout supporter, said the United Auto Workers was willing to make the cuts, but not until 2011.

The collapse of the latest negotiations came as the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday evening that General Motors had hired lawyers and bankers to consider whether to file for bankruptcy, a prospect made more likely by the outcome of Thursday's talks." - FOX News

Although I am not sure watching these companies fail is a good thing for the economy, I do believe that it is the Unions and CEO's that have ruined them. I don't think that we should use our tax dollars to bail them out unless they are willing to go the extra mile to make sure they are viable in the long run.

For the Unions to not be willing to cut salaries right now shows their unwillingness to work to make sure the companies survive. I now care less whether they fail or not. For all the those smart Union People who won't take the pay cut, you can keep your salary at least until your company is gone and you are making nothing. Smart move!

Brewers Talking Trade with Yankees?

Sources around baseball have said that not only have the Yankee's taken CC, they are also courting Sheets. Now there is talk that the Brewers may be close to a deal to send Cameron and Hall over to the Yanks for some pitching.

Lets see how this turns out. Melvin has been pretty good at putting together competitive teams.

Eighth Time Drunk Driver hits College Student

WTMJ Story

"The poor student was crossing the street at the intersection of College and Grand Avenue," said Waukesha Police Capt. Mark Stigler. "He went flying through the air and landed in a snowbank." - WTMJ

"Officers tracked the suspect down to his house a few blocks away and found the steaming vehicle with fresh damage on all sides and arrested the driver," "The suspect was operating on a valid Wisconsin driver's license," - WTMJ

Here you go again. Another story of multiple Drunk Driving offenses and still driving around here in good ole Wisconsin. My favorite quote was "The Suspect was operating on a valid Wisconsin driver's license." Are you kidding me? How do you get a valid license after that many Drunk Driving incidents.

Sabathia takes offer from Yankees

Several Reports have Pitcher CC Sabathia accepting a record deal from the NY Yankees. The deal is reported to be near 7 years $160 Million.

The Brewers had pretty much given their best offer at 5 years $100 Million. I still am very impressed that the Brewers went after Sabathia with such vigor. That was a great deal for the Market that the Brewers are in.

There is also reports that Pitcher Ben Sheets has offers from the Yankees and the Texas Rangers. I for one don't really mind if we lose him. He seems to be hurt more than he is healthery. I would rather the Brewers use that money to go after another pitcher.

There is reports that a trade may be in the works with the Seattle Mariners that would send Prince Fielder to the Mariners for some pitching.

Illinois Governor Taken into Custody

"Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was arrested at his North Side home Tuesday morning. His chief of staff John Harris was taken into federal custody as well." - FOX News

"Fitzgerald's office said the 76-page FBI affidavit alleges that Blagojevich was taped conspiring to sell or trade Obama's vacated U.S. Senate seat for financial and other personal benefits for himself and his wife.

According to the affidavit, Blagojevich floated the idea of "a substantial salary for himself at a either a nonprofit foundation or an organization affiliated with labor unions;" a corporate board seat for his wife worth as much as $150,000 a year; promises of campaign funds, including cash up front; and a Cabinet post or ambassadorship for himself." - FOX News

What a Shocker!!!! An Illinois Politician corrupt? No Way!!! I don't really think this a big surprise. What is going to be surprising will be any connection he has to President Elect Obama. It will also bear some watching to see how Obama handles this situation.

Let it Snow!!!!

OK, I come from the South, so I am not a big fan of Wisconsin as it is. Only a few months of Summer every year.

Last year was a record year for snow fall with close to 100" of snow. They said then that it was an unusually snowy winter. I can live with that, an unusually snowy winter. Here we are in 2008, it seems to really be making a run at last years snow totals.

Oh well, I guess if it is going to snow then SNOW!!!! I hate those little 2-3 inch snows that require me to go out and shovel or snow blow, if it has to snow then really snow!!! It would be nice to get some days off here and there as well.

Snow totals range from 2" around the Milwaukee area to close to 8" up around Sheboygan. We still have several hours of snow to go so we will see what we total out at.

Merrill Lynch CEO Request $10 Million Bonus

"Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid slammed Merrill Lynch CEO John Thain on Monday for requesting a $10 million bonus -- subsidized by taxpayers -- just two months after receiving $10 billion in bailout money from the federal government" - FOX News

Are you kidding me!!!! How in the world can a CEO expect to get any kind of bonus when you run the company so far into the ground that we have to bail you out?

"On Oct. 14, the faltering investment bank received $10 billion from the Troubled Asset Relief Program to save itself from falling into bankruptcy." - FOX News

I think that we should require them to fire this SOB or prosecute him for attempting to steal the taxpayers money that we gave him to bailout his pathetic company. This is what is wrong with bailing out this companies. They feel entitlement to the money.

Latest Winter Storm to Make mess of Travel

WTMJ has posted it's latest Weather update, and it doesn't look real good for Southern Wisconsin.

Currently Freezing Rain is being reported around the area, this will be followed up with some heavy snow tonight and tomorrow.

Keep up to date as the situation continues to develop.

Dog Freezes to Sidewalk

"A woman was arrested after she left her dog outside in 6 degree weather, causing it to freeze to the sidewalk. A neighbor called police after the dog was stuck to the pavement for more than 12 hours. Jiffy’s owner, a 59-year-old woman, was taken into custody on suspicion of animal neglect." - WISN News

First of all, this woman deserves to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. This is just a ridiculous act.

Second, What kind of a neighborhood is this? You only call the police after the dog was stuck to the pavement for more than 12 hours? What about the first 11 hours? Surely there is a swift kick in the ass for this neighbor as well.

Liberals & Democrats Critical of Obama

"“At his announcement of an economic team there was no secretary of labor. If you don’t think the labor secretary is on the same level as treasury secretary, that gives me pause,” said Jonathan Tasini, who runs the website workinglife.org. “The president-elect wouldn't be president-elect without labor." " - CBS News

It seems the Savior of the World is drawing ire from many of the people who busted out the vote to get him elected. I think I heard all of this before the election, guess you only hear what you want to hear and believe what you want to believe.

"Obama has reversed pledges to immediately repeal tax cuts for the wealthy and take on Big Oil. He’s hedged his call for a quick drawdown in Iraq. And he’s stocking his White House with anything but stalwarts of the left." - CBS News

Really!!! He isn't doing what he said he would do? hmmmm

"Obama insists he hasn’t abandoned the goals that made him feel to some like a liberal savior. But the left’s bill of particulars against Obama is long, and growing. " - CBS News

"Obama drew rousing applause at campaign events when he vowed to tax the windfall profits of oil companies. As president-elect, Obama says he won’t enact the tax.

Obama’s pledge to repeal the Bush tax cuts and redistribute that money to the middle class made him a hero among Democrats who said the cuts favored the wealthy. But now he’s struck a more cautious stance on rolling back tax cuts for people making over $250,000 a year, signaling he’ll merely let them expire as scheduled at the end of 2010." - CBS News

Well, I think that you can go back and take a long long long look at all of the writings that were done outside of the Mainstream Media before the election even took place and you can see the writing that was on the wall. Candidate Obama was selling what he could sell to become President Obama. He said what he needed to say. The actions that he showed prior to becoming a Candidate showed he wouldn't uphold these promises.

Come on people. I often said that as his Presidency went many people would be saying "if I knew that, I wouldn't have voted for him." Well it seems it is already starting, and he hasn't even been sworn in as the President.

Deal close to offer $15 Billion Bailout

Congress and the White House are closing in on a bailout for the Big 3 Automakers. The deal is expected to be worth about $15 Billion.

"Sen. Chris Dodd, chairman of the Banking Committee, said Sunday that General Motors Corp.'s chief executive, Rick Wagoner, "has to move on" as part of a government-run restructuring.

"I think you have got to consider new leadership," Dodd said on CBS' "Face the Nation."
Criticized for staying on the sidelines until now, President-elect Barack Obama voiced support Sunday for the bailout legislation being drafted in Congress. He accused car industry executives of a persistent "head-in-the sand approach" to long-festering problems." - Fox News

"In 1992, he was named GM's chief financial officer, in 1994 he became executive vice president and/or president of North American Operations, and in 1998 he was named president and chief operating officer. He became president and chief executive officer in June 2000 and was elected chairman on May 1, 2003. During his reign, GM shares have plummeted from $70 in June 2006 to as low as $2.79 in Nov 2008, a loss of approximately 96%." - Wikipedia

"GM spokesman Steve Harris said the company appreciates Dodd's support for the loans, but added, "GM employees, dealers, suppliers and the GM board of directors feel strongly that Rick is the right guy to lead GM through this incredibly difficult and challenging time."" - Fox News

So there you go, it doesn't appear that at least GM plans to make the necessary changes to make them more viable. It seems to me that if you run your company into the ground and need the someone to bail you out or you go under, then you didn't do your job and need to be fired. You can bet that in any other business, if you fail to do your job, you won't be there.

I will be really interested to see if they force Management changes.

Winter Storm to Hit Wiscosin

A Major Winter Storm is bearing down on us once again. Rain, Sleet, Freezing Rain, and Heavy Snow are expected.

Snow Totals will range from 3-6 inches in SE Wisconsin to 8-12 inches further North with some areas getting as much as 15 inches.

The storm is expected to hit late this afternoon and Evening.

Dems not Happy with Obama

"He's going to have to be more assertive than he's been," House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank, D-Mass., told consumer advocates Thursday. - CBS News

The Democrats don't seem to be to thrilled with the hands off approach of President Elect Obama. They want him to get engaged!

"The Obama team has to step up," Sen. Christopher Dodd, chairman of the Senate Banking Committee and one of the lead negotiators, said Nov. 21 in Hartford, Conn. "In the minds of the people, this is the Obama administration. I don't think we can wait until January 20." - CBS News

"It would be very helpful if the president-elect would become more involved in resolving the issue over the source of the funds," he said. "I want him to offer his assistance. He is a person who can really bring people together." - Carl Levin, MI - CBS News

"It is a grave mistake to assume that parties are irrelevant to this process," he said. "My one difference with the president-elect, about whom I am very enthusiastic, is when he talks about being post-partisan.

"Having lived with this very right wing Republican group that runs the House most of the time, the notion of trying to deal with them as if we could be post-partisan gives me post-partisan depression," Frank said.

So it looks like this is going to be rather interesting. Is he going to be the President of Change?

Big 3 still begging for Cash

While the Big 3 Automakers are in Washington begging for cash, I thought I would post some comments from people about this. You already know how I feel about the whole mess.

"Hey Mr. Nardelli? Shouldn''t you have addressed this YEARS ago when it was all too obvious that the American car companies were falling behind the Asian ones? Why are you JUST NOW grasping this?? You have no one to blame but yourselves for being short-sighted, greedy, money-grabbers."

"I agree with Henius... in the long run, we put/left the elected officials in office. Either way you look at the auto request of bailout, unless we force our representatives to go after what their constituents demand, it''s our fault."

"WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!

If there is a Japenese Auto plant in your state YOUR CONGRESS PERSON WILL VOTE AGAINST THE AMERICAN AUTO BAILOUT in favor of the JAPANESE KARETSU...The CONGRESS PEOPLE are "CUFFED" by the JAPANESE THIS IS WHY BUSH SAYS GO THE ENERGY ROUTE BECAUSE THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE A CONGRESSIONAL VOTE JUST AN APPLICATION.

This plan was hatched in 1991----DRIVE THE AMERICAN AUTO INDUSTRY OUT OF BUSINESS BY PLAYING STATES AGAINST ONE ANOTHER. " - OK so this person is smoking some of that good old home grown. WOW!!!

"It''s not about the CEOs. If that were the case, then we as Americans should have voted everyone out of Congress this past November. But As usual, us dumb, believe anything culture just votes them back in. The mess the auto industry is in is based on the mortgage/banking industry''s bad "gambling" judgement. Just like Enron, if its too good to be true, then it''s not. The past few years of growth were a pipe dream that is now a nightmare. Where were all these smart Senators then?"

"Let see Union''s not going to give up their Bank or their wages or huge benifits. Company can only give up so much. This all equals no change in company. this is the biggest Dog and Pony show just to cover the fact that Congress is still going to give them the money at our expense. You can''t be so stupid not to believe that Nancy and the boys are not getting something under the table for their efforts. Nothing is free in Washington, everything is for sell, especially in Congress."

Whitnall Schools to get Police Liason

"A police liaison will likely return to the Whitnall schools early next year.

Whitnall Superintendent Karen Petric said a sworn officer would be assigned to the schools shortly after the winter holidays. " - Greenfieldnow.com

It has been a while, almost a year, since the Whitnall School District had a liason. However the Greenfield Schools had one all along.

With the problems the school has been having with drugs you would have thought there would have been a quicker response.

US Attorney Resigns

US Attorney Biskupic stepping down at the beginning of next year. WTMJ Reports

"In his six years as a federal prosecutor, Biskupic won a number of high-profile convictions against public officials, including former state Sen. Gary George, D-Milwaukee. George was sentenced in 2004 to four years in federal prison after pleading guilty to running a kickback scheme involving a Milwaukee social service agency.

Biskupic also successfully prosecuted former Milwaukee aldermen Paul Henningsen and Alderman Mike McGee Jr.

Henningsen was sentenced to 33 months for embezzling from his campaign fund and falsifying campaign finance reports. McGee was sentenced to 6 1/2 years in federal prison on charges including bribery and extortion.

Biskupic said Tuesday his only regret was that he didn't pursue public corruption cases more aggressively. He said trust in government is paramount, and he hoped the convictions he did win made a difference.

"I hope I helped people in Milwaukee and the Eastern District have a better life," he said." - WTMJ

I think he did an outstanding job of helping to clean up the politics around here, but I don't think he did quite enough. He should have been more agressive.

Here it comes again!!!

Here comes the snow. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Tomorrow from 6am til 8pm. We can expect between 3-5 more inches.

This is a great start to the Winter Weather Season. I love Wisconsin!!!!

Lake Delton set to Come back

Lake Delton, which emptied on June 9, 2008 after heavy rains and flood waters cut a whole to the river, is set to start refilling as early as this week.

Engineers and construction workers started an intense program of rebuilding and strengthening the area so that they could get the businesses back up and operating as quickly as possible.

Now less than a year later, they are set to start refilling the lake. They believe the lake could be refilled as early as May of 2009.

Sales up for Black Friday

"Sales on the day after Thanksgiving rose to $10.6 billion, according to preliminary figures released Saturday by ShopperTrak RCT Corp., a Chicago-based research firm that tracks sales at more than 50,000 retail outlets.

Last year, shoppers spent about $10.3 billion on the day after Thanksgiving, dubbed Black Friday because it was historically the sales-packed day when retailers would become profitable for the year." - Fox News Story

Could the horrendous economy making a comeback?

Here Comes the Snow

It is that time of the year again. At least we got pretty much through Thanksgiving.

Starting Sunday and lasting throughout the evening and into the overnight hours we can see our first real accumulation of snow.

Milwaukee South will bear the brunt of the storm.

Bailout Total could Rise to $7.5 Trillion

"The government's financial bailout will be the most expensive single expenditure in American history, potentially costing around $7.5 trillion -- or half the value of all the goods and services produced in the United States last year." - ABC News

Back to our little math worksheet. $7.5 Trillion, divided by125,225,901 voters. If the bailout money was divided amongst every single person who voted in the US during this last election for President, each and every voter would have received over $59,000. Tell me that wouldn't have helped the economy? I sure know that it would of helped in my house hold. Between my Wife and I we would have received nearly $120,000 and we would have been in great shape. Debt free except for the house, and money put away for the kids college funds.

Something just isn't right with this picture?

Obama's Economic Team - A Team of Change?

It doesn't appear that the type of change that Obama was talking about on the Campaign trail is the same type of change that he is going to institute in Washington. Most of his picks for his team have been long time Politicians that served in the Clinton Administration, or in Congress.

Now his economic team bears strikingly similar resemblance to what we have or had.

Geithner means “More of the same… more bailouts, more lack of transparency in the bailouts, and more corporate welfare. … In choosing Geither, Obama might as well have nominated Hank Paulson to another term!” - Fox News Story

Packers & Titans

Not a good week for either team. The Titans dropped their first of the year, to the New York Jets. They didn't look to be in it from the very beginning.

The Packers looked horrible Monday night against the Saints. Can you say, "What the hell happened!!!" They looked like a whole different team after halftime.

Oh well we got next week. The Packers better get on a roll or they could get left out of the Playoffs. The Titans should rebound with a win against the Lions on Thanksgiving.

Islamist Fighters set to Attack Pirates

"Piracy, which is a capital offense under Islam, has reportedly angered the Shehab, a militant Islamist group that controls much of southern and central Somalia and rejects an internationally-backed peace process.

The Islamist group has threatened to launch an attack on the pirates if they do not release the tanker and has positioned their fighters in and around the city of Harardhere in recent days, according to the AFP.

"If the pirates want peace, they had better release the tanker," Sheikh Ahmed, a spokesman for the Shebab group in the coastal region of Harardhere, reportedly told the AFP by phone." - Fox News Story

Authorities nab the "Butt Bandit"

Ok, maybe we actually have a runner up to the dumbest criminal in America. See Story NBC

"A 35-year-old man was caught in the act by police early Wednesday morning, Cherry County Attorney Eric Scott said Friday. The man hasn't been charged yet, but authorities believe he is the vandal some townsfolk have dubbed the "Butt Bandit."" - NBC

"...a mystery vandal visited businesses at night, pressing his naked behind — sometimes his groin, sometimes both — on windows. The marks were made with lotion or petroleum jelly..." - NBC

Alrighty then, not much more to add to this. Way to go Nebraska, get in the running with this guy.

America's Dumbest Criminals

Pictured to the right quite possibly could be America's Dumbest criminals. 19-year-old Michael Hutto and 29-year-old Daniel Conder stand accused of breaking into a South Carolina Police Station.

"Officers say Hutto and Conder broke into the Perry Police Department on November 13. Deputies say the two took an assault rifle and a set of digital scales from a storage room. Officers say the men unsuccessfully tried to carry away a 1,500 pound safe." - WLTX.COM

Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State

Obama won over Clinton to accept the post after her initial reaction was to reject the post.

The picks that Obama is making is quite intriguing to say the least. He is putting together some of his former adversaries to head up his team.

He is also keeping his enemies close. It appears that he is not only looking at today, but pre-planning for his reelection. By putting the people that will be his biggest competition on his team, it virtually eliminates them from running against him.

What do you think? Hillary as Secretary of State, mmmm.

Wisconsin to see Deficit of $5.4 Billion

"Clinton compared Doyle’s success in bringing the state out of a $3.2 billion deficit to the surplus the nation experienced under his presidency." - Daily Cardinal November 2006

"The budget unveiled by Gov. Jim Doyle is in step with the values of Wisconsin residents, who know the value of our investment in great schools. It offers a solid, balanced plan to use taxpayer resources wisely, and offers realistic solutions, not gimmicks." - WEAC 05-07 Budget

"Just weeks after the November 7 vote, state budget officials announced that the state faced a $1.6 billion budget hole going into the next two-year budget.
This immediately raised eyebrows because Doyle had campaigned claiming
that he had balanced the state budget" - WPRI

"Governor Doyle balanced two straight budgets without raising taxes – including solving
the largest budget deficit in Wisconsin history - $3.2 billion – that Congressman Green
helped Republicans in the state Legislature create." - Doyle Lawton Campaign

Well, I guess now we know who was telling the truth and who was lying during the 2006 election cycle for Governor here in Wisconsin. Governor Doyle Claimed that he had solved the $3.2 Billion deficit and had balanced budgets. Well here we sit 2 years later finding out that the budgets have deficits and are looking at a $5.4 Billion deficit by 2011.

"The Wisconsin Legislature will be forced to meet in special session early next year to begin dealing with the worst budget deficit in state history." - WISN Story

Maybe we should pay attention to what is really happening instead of listening to the rhetoric of a campaign.

We Don't need Bailout

"The car industry in their neighborhood is doing well -- the Honda engine plant in Anna, Ohio, sits amid lots crowded with employee vehicles, ringed by carefully trimmed trees and endless farm fields beyond. It recently underwent a $75 million, 135,000-square-foot expansion." - CNN Story

"I don't think they should bail them out because ... obviously something's not right in the way they're running their business, and why should the American people have to bail them out if they can't figure out how to do it right?" September Quinn, the busy waitress, said after the lunch rush at the Inn Between.

She holds the unions just as accountable as the companies for the industry's problems.

"People agree with the unions because the workers want to be backed on everything, but then again, there aren't people striving to do their job better," said Quinn, whose father works at the nonunion Honda plant. "They've just got Papa Bear to back them up in any instance, and they keep their job. And you can do that, but I don't know at the cost of what." - CNN

Sounds like some pretty smart people over there in Ohio. and this is from the heart of Auto Country.

Illegal Immigrants arrested in Kenosha

"U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents along with Kenosha-area law enforcement officers, arrested 11 illegal immigrant gang members from Mexico on Wednesday" - WISN Story

These were not just illegal's they were members of a street gang.

I don't know how many people remember when the conversation of building the fence to help keep illegals out, and all the fighting that went along with that. I think that there is still legal fights going on in some parts.

If this isn't enough to show the kind of danger we face by having our borders open, then you must have your head buried in the sand or somewhere else.

County Board Overrides 22 of 29 Vetoes

The County Board dealt County Exec and taxpayers of Milwaukee a blow today by overriding 22 of 29 vetoes.

The Overrides will raise our taxes an additional 3.1%

They will tell you that it isn't that much, but have you seen our taxes already. Oh yea, and by the way that is on top of the fact that average citywide assessment increase. So in a time when everyones house value is going down they are going to increase the value of our houses for tax purposes?

Read the story from WISN about the Veto Overrides. WISN Story

Donald Drivers Dad Beaten?

Several reports have Donald Drivers dad in the Hospital after a traffic stop. The stories from the Police and The Family differ greatly.

"Houston police said Marvin Driver Jr. was arrested during a traffic stop and put in the back seat of a squad car and taken to the city's Southeast Jail.

Upon arrival at the jail, officers said Driver Jr. was unresponsive. Once examined by doctors, paramedics were called and he was taken to an area hospital." - WISN

However the Family says that, "Driver Jr. never made it to the jail but was picked up by the paramedics several blocks from his parents home laying in the street bloody and unconscious, and the police were no where to be found." - WISN

The Investigation continues and I am sure that we will hear more as details emerge.

"The CEOs of the Big Three automakers reportedly flew private luxury jets to Washington to plead for a $25 billion taxpayer bailout to save their debt-ridden industry — ringing up tens of thousands in charges even as they cried poverty.

Recipients of eight-figure bonuses in 2007, the corporate cowboys used their executive perks — which for GM's Rick Wagoner include the run of a $36 million Gulfstream IV jet — to arrive in style as they went begging before Congress." - FOX News

It is so good to see that the Executives aren't in poverty. Especially Bob Nardelli who trashed Home Depot before walking out with a huge Golden Parachute.

Wisconsin Senators Support Auto Bailout

"Feingold said it must have protections for taxpayers and require the automakers to make more fuel-efficient cars while taking advantage of their existing workforce." - WISN

"Sen. Herb Kohl said the aid must be in the form of a loan and include accountability and the expectations of big changes to revive and renew the industry." - WISN

Gee, I wonder where we heard this same rhetoric. Protections for the taxpayer, accountability, oversight. Oh yeah, on the original big bailout. Then we found out that they were giving out bonuses and taking lavish trips. Sounds like we are heading down the same road again.

What industry are we bailing out next? Airlines? Supermarkets?

Should we Dissolve MPS?

In September the MPS Board voted to explore the possibility of dissolving the Milwaukee Public School System. They also said that they are not ready to give up.

I think a lot of people wish they would move on. However now comes the news that State senator Ted Kanavas of Brookfield says he’ll introduce a bill to dissolve the district. He suggests separating schools into multiple districts.

This could be exactly what the district needs to revive itself. It is abundantly clear that the people running the district at this point can not handle the task. Maybe it is just too big and needs to be restructured.

This could be the first move in a long needed overhaul of the system. I am sure that it will be an uphill battle, but it should get some serious consideration.

MPS Spends your Money

"Fancy hotels, high-priced consultants, catered meals and other perks. The TODAY’S TMJ4 I-Team dug up all kinds of eye-opening expenses. It's left everyone from the bigwigs at City Hall to ordinary taxpayers feeling like MPS’ 89,000 students are getting cheated by the grown-ups who decide how the money gets spent." - WTMJ Story

This is the School board who over the last 3 years has raised taxes 34%. ""I don't see how anybody can say that a 34 percent levy increase in three years is acceptable," argues Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett." - WTMJ

Over the last 3 years they have spent $19 Million on Consultants. Some where you would have thought one of those consultants would have told them they are spending too much money on consultants.

Did you know that if a Teacher's car gets vandalized while at work, we pay to have it fixed? That is a pretty nice perk. How many of you get that perk, where if your car is damaged at your job then they pay to fix it?

Explain to me why a public school district spends close to a half a million dollars on marketing? If you had a good product, you wouldn't have to try and sell it to the taxpayers in your district.

"Taxpayers can judge for themselves. Here's a link to the 'CRG Network’s Web site' You can search for specific 'MPS Expenses' even the money spent by your kids' schoo" - WTMJ

Milwaukee Postal Worker Delivers & Smokes Cocaine

"The arrest came after police say they were investigating a postal worker out delivering mail, and witnessed her deliver and use crack cocaine on the job, while you, the taxpayers, are paying her salary." - WTMJ Story

Sandra Winkler, 51, was caught delivering and using Cocaine. This story is going to get more interesting I am sure.

"The criminal complaint alleges Winkler delivered crack cocaine to her daughter from her mail truck on South 38th Street. Police say they caught the daughter using the drugs while*driving, with her toddler in the car." - WTMJ

What a family. In cases like this you only hope they through the book at them both.

MPS Wastes your Money

WTMJ reportedly has some investigative reporting on MPS tonight at 10pm that is sure to make your blood boil.

This on the hills of the huge tax increase that they voted for. We will update after the report airs.

Don't miss it.

Pabst Complex Transformation

With Millions of Dollars going into transforming old run down areas of Milwaukee, why does the City continue to cut off it's nose.

With all of the good things that are going on to improve the City, it seems that the leadership continues down a path of ruination. This is the chance to reinvigorate the city, yet we see them putting together the sick leave law, trying to raise taxes, everything that drives businesses and citizens away.

Execs Refuse Year-End Bonuses?

Top Goldman Execs Refuse Year-End Bonuses

That is the headline of the CBS News Story.

" Goldman Sachs Group Inc. CEO Lloyd Blankfein and six other top executives at the bank will not be receiving cash or stock bonuses for 2008, a spokesman said Sunday.

The decision was made by the seven executives themselves, said spokesman Lucas Van Praag, and approved Sunday by the Wall Street firm's compensation committee. The executives made the decision "because they think it's the right thing to do," Van Praag said." - CBS News

Excuse me a minute while I spit the doggy doo out of my mouth. Are you kidding me? The refused the bonuses because it's the right thing to do? These are the Executives? They are the ones who ran the business into the ground so we could bail it out? Why in the Hell is it even an option for any of them to get bonuses of any kind!!!!!????

WOW!!!! I am so glad that Congress made sure that there would be some oversight on this load of crappy crap crap.

Doyle still Governor, for now

It is bad news so far for us here in Wisconsin, Jim Doyle is still our Governor and says he has not talked to Obama about a job in the new administration.

It gets worse when it is widely speculated that he will make a run as at a third term as our Governor.

We'll have to keep watching, hopefully he will be lured away to DC.

Woman turns in Illegal due to Homesale issues

"At the end, do I feel bad the family got in trouble? No, not at all," she said. - Fox News Story

Nicole Griffin turned in Lorenzo Jimenez and family for being in the country illegally. Now I am all for making sure that people who come into this country come in legally, but come on this lady isn't about doing the right thing, she just wants revenge.

Everything was all good for Nicole Griffin when the house was up for sale and she was getting what she wanted. It wasn't until she found out that she could bully Lorenzo around that she decided to go to the Authorities. Even though I agree with the fact that Lorenzo should have done the right thing and get legalized, I think it is a sad day that Ms. Griffin pulls this kind of stuff.

I think that Nicole Griffin is no better than your common criminal by trying to hold this over their head for her gain.

Mother Turns in Children

This was a great story. WTMJ is reporting about a Mother who turned in her Teen daughter and son to police in a gas station Robbery.

"Milwaukee Police Capt. David Zibolski says the mother saw video of Thursday's armed robbery at Citgo Ajit Gas & Go on West Hopkins Street and recognized her 16-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter. She called police Friday after seeing the video on a local TV station." - WTMJ

If we had more Parents like this around here then we could easily take back the communities that seem lost. Every News Cast that comes on you see the crimes that are taking place around here. I always sit and wonder how these things don't seem to be resolved quickly. Very rarely is there something that happens where someone does not see it. What is it with people who would rather just not say something and let these people get away with it? If everyone got together and said we aren't going to take it anymore, be vigilant and let the police know what is going on it wouldn't take long to shut this down.

I say we all should praise this Mother and she is Mother of the year for doing the right thing.

Should we Bail out the Auto Industry

The Big 3 in Michigan say that they are in emergency need of a bailout. They are looking for between $25-$50 Billion Dollars. Obama says we should do, Pelosi wants it done, Congress isn't so sure. What should happen?

I am against the Government spending our tax dollars to bail out any industry. If the Government is in the business of saving people from themselves, how come we don't help people who over extend themselves with credit card debt, buy too big of a house, buy that car that just cost too much. I could use a bailout.

I understand that if we allow them to go under, it will be a big hit on the economy, but really how much worse can things get? As bad as things are, wouldn't it be better to take the hit now and restructure these failing businesses?

The Auto Industry is in trouble because of how they do business. Toyota and Nissan seem to be doing OK. No, they are not doing great, but they are not ready to fold. The biggest problem I have is when a majority of the money goes to the overpaid people of the union. It costs approximately $71 an hour on average for each worker in the Big 3, compared to $42 an hour for the others. A majority goes to paying Retirement and Health benefits.

Before you go sending them my hard earned money, lets get this business model in line with a philosophy that will prosper in the long run. The Auto Industry has been in trouble for years. The Union has priced themselves out of the Market, now they don't want to flex to get back in line to help the ailing industry survive. Why wouldn't it be a smarter move to file for Bankruptcy and restructure. Get rid of these bad union deals that are killing the American Auto Industry? Doesn't it make you wonder why you can buy a comparable auto from overseas and get more options for less? They don't have the ridiculous overhead of the Union.

“If we subsidize General Motors now so it doesn't go under in 2009, it will go under in 2011. But when it does, it won't disappear. The factories won't go away. It will go through bankruptcy reorganization and a new company will emerge that makes the same cars, but with much lower costs and much better competitive prospects,” economist Peter Morici said. - WISN Story

I say that we let the American Auto Industry as it is today go into non existence. It won't take long for the Industry to rise from the ashes and hopefully with some intelligence to not allow the same type of greed from the Union take them down. All of the workers that will temporarily be unemployed will need to adjust to the lower wages. When you are overpaid, then you have to know that the day is going to come when you are going to have to decide to either work for the Market wages or not work at all.

I say no to the bail out, when it is all said and done, maybe American Automakers will be able to build vehicles that are priced within the Market. If done right, the overhead will go down, the cars will be in line with the competition, and sales will thrive with more profit and everyone will win.

"...an 18-year-old student was arrested, and police say he admitted making the threat." - WTMJ

We have seen this happen around the area over the past several months, Racine had one just recently. I never hear about the punishment. They should have stiff punishment, and it should be publicized so these people understand how serious this is.

The man was booked and released on his own recognizance after it was determined he did not pose a credible threat,” New Berlin Police Lt. Mike Glider said." - WTMJ

There should be stiff punishment. Why let him go on his recognizance? Let him sit in a jail cell for a day or two and think about it. He should have spent the weekend in jail. That is what is wrong with our system, and why you see this continually to happen more and more.
