Authorities nab the "Butt Bandit"

Ok, maybe we actually have a runner up to the dumbest criminal in America. See Story NBC

"A 35-year-old man was caught in the act by police early Wednesday morning, Cherry County Attorney Eric Scott said Friday. The man hasn't been charged yet, but authorities believe he is the vandal some townsfolk have dubbed the "Butt Bandit."" - NBC

"...a mystery vandal visited businesses at night, pressing his naked behind — sometimes his groin, sometimes both — on windows. The marks were made with lotion or petroleum jelly..." - NBC

Alrighty then, not much more to add to this. Way to go Nebraska, get in the running with this guy.

America's Dumbest Criminals

Pictured to the right quite possibly could be America's Dumbest criminals. 19-year-old Michael Hutto and 29-year-old Daniel Conder stand accused of breaking into a South Carolina Police Station.

"Officers say Hutto and Conder broke into the Perry Police Department on November 13. Deputies say the two took an assault rifle and a set of digital scales from a storage room. Officers say the men unsuccessfully tried to carry away a 1,500 pound safe." - WLTX.COM

Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State

Obama won over Clinton to accept the post after her initial reaction was to reject the post.

The picks that Obama is making is quite intriguing to say the least. He is putting together some of his former adversaries to head up his team.

He is also keeping his enemies close. It appears that he is not only looking at today, but pre-planning for his reelection. By putting the people that will be his biggest competition on his team, it virtually eliminates them from running against him.

What do you think? Hillary as Secretary of State, mmmm.

West Allis Police issue Report on Beating

Wisconsin to see Deficit of $5.4 Billion

"Clinton compared Doyle’s success in bringing the state out of a $3.2 billion deficit to the surplus the nation experienced under his presidency." - Daily Cardinal November 2006

"The budget unveiled by Gov. Jim Doyle is in step with the values of Wisconsin residents, who know the value of our investment in great schools. It offers a solid, balanced plan to use taxpayer resources wisely, and offers realistic solutions, not gimmicks." - WEAC 05-07 Budget

"Just weeks after the November 7 vote, state budget officials announced that the state faced a $1.6 billion budget hole going into the next two-year budget.
This immediately raised eyebrows because Doyle had campaigned claiming
that he had balanced the state budget" - WPRI

"Governor Doyle balanced two straight budgets without raising taxes – including solving
the largest budget deficit in Wisconsin history - $3.2 billion – that Congressman Green
helped Republicans in the state Legislature create." - Doyle Lawton Campaign

Well, I guess now we know who was telling the truth and who was lying during the 2006 election cycle for Governor here in Wisconsin. Governor Doyle Claimed that he had solved the $3.2 Billion deficit and had balanced budgets. Well here we sit 2 years later finding out that the budgets have deficits and are looking at a $5.4 Billion deficit by 2011.

"The Wisconsin Legislature will be forced to meet in special session early next year to begin dealing with the worst budget deficit in state history." - WISN Story

Maybe we should pay attention to what is really happening instead of listening to the rhetoric of a campaign.

We Don't need Bailout

"The car industry in their neighborhood is doing well -- the Honda engine plant in Anna, Ohio, sits amid lots crowded with employee vehicles, ringed by carefully trimmed trees and endless farm fields beyond. It recently underwent a $75 million, 135,000-square-foot expansion." - CNN Story

"I don't think they should bail them out because ... obviously something's not right in the way they're running their business, and why should the American people have to bail them out if they can't figure out how to do it right?" September Quinn, the busy waitress, said after the lunch rush at the Inn Between.

She holds the unions just as accountable as the companies for the industry's problems.

"People agree with the unions because the workers want to be backed on everything, but then again, there aren't people striving to do their job better," said Quinn, whose father works at the nonunion Honda plant. "They've just got Papa Bear to back them up in any instance, and they keep their job. And you can do that, but I don't know at the cost of what." - CNN

Sounds like some pretty smart people over there in Ohio. and this is from the heart of Auto Country.

Illegal Immigrants arrested in Kenosha

"U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents along with Kenosha-area law enforcement officers, arrested 11 illegal immigrant gang members from Mexico on Wednesday" - WISN Story

These were not just illegal's they were members of a street gang.

I don't know how many people remember when the conversation of building the fence to help keep illegals out, and all the fighting that went along with that. I think that there is still legal fights going on in some parts.

If this isn't enough to show the kind of danger we face by having our borders open, then you must have your head buried in the sand or somewhere else.

County Board Overrides 22 of 29 Vetoes

The County Board dealt County Exec and taxpayers of Milwaukee a blow today by overriding 22 of 29 vetoes.

The Overrides will raise our taxes an additional 3.1%

They will tell you that it isn't that much, but have you seen our taxes already. Oh yea, and by the way that is on top of the fact that average citywide assessment increase. So in a time when everyones house value is going down they are going to increase the value of our houses for tax purposes?

Read the story from WISN about the Veto Overrides. WISN Story

Donald Drivers Dad Beaten?

Several reports have Donald Drivers dad in the Hospital after a traffic stop. The stories from the Police and The Family differ greatly.

"Houston police said Marvin Driver Jr. was arrested during a traffic stop and put in the back seat of a squad car and taken to the city's Southeast Jail.

Upon arrival at the jail, officers said Driver Jr. was unresponsive. Once examined by doctors, paramedics were called and he was taken to an area hospital." - WISN

However the Family says that, "Driver Jr. never made it to the jail but was picked up by the paramedics several blocks from his parents home laying in the street bloody and unconscious, and the police were no where to be found." - WISN

The Investigation continues and I am sure that we will hear more as details emerge.

"The CEOs of the Big Three automakers reportedly flew private luxury jets to Washington to plead for a $25 billion taxpayer bailout to save their debt-ridden industry — ringing up tens of thousands in charges even as they cried poverty.

Recipients of eight-figure bonuses in 2007, the corporate cowboys used their executive perks — which for GM's Rick Wagoner include the run of a $36 million Gulfstream IV jet — to arrive in style as they went begging before Congress." - FOX News

It is so good to see that the Executives aren't in poverty. Especially Bob Nardelli who trashed Home Depot before walking out with a huge Golden Parachute.

Wisconsin Senators Support Auto Bailout

"Feingold said it must have protections for taxpayers and require the automakers to make more fuel-efficient cars while taking advantage of their existing workforce." - WISN

"Sen. Herb Kohl said the aid must be in the form of a loan and include accountability and the expectations of big changes to revive and renew the industry." - WISN

Gee, I wonder where we heard this same rhetoric. Protections for the taxpayer, accountability, oversight. Oh yeah, on the original big bailout. Then we found out that they were giving out bonuses and taking lavish trips. Sounds like we are heading down the same road again.

What industry are we bailing out next? Airlines? Supermarkets?

Should we Dissolve MPS?

In September the MPS Board voted to explore the possibility of dissolving the Milwaukee Public School System. They also said that they are not ready to give up.

I think a lot of people wish they would move on. However now comes the news that State senator Ted Kanavas of Brookfield says he’ll introduce a bill to dissolve the district. He suggests separating schools into multiple districts.

This could be exactly what the district needs to revive itself. It is abundantly clear that the people running the district at this point can not handle the task. Maybe it is just too big and needs to be restructured.

This could be the first move in a long needed overhaul of the system. I am sure that it will be an uphill battle, but it should get some serious consideration.

MPS Spends your Money

"Fancy hotels, high-priced consultants, catered meals and other perks. The TODAY’S TMJ4 I-Team dug up all kinds of eye-opening expenses. It's left everyone from the bigwigs at City Hall to ordinary taxpayers feeling like MPS’ 89,000 students are getting cheated by the grown-ups who decide how the money gets spent." - WTMJ Story

This is the School board who over the last 3 years has raised taxes 34%. ""I don't see how anybody can say that a 34 percent levy increase in three years is acceptable," argues Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett." - WTMJ

Over the last 3 years they have spent $19 Million on Consultants. Some where you would have thought one of those consultants would have told them they are spending too much money on consultants.

Did you know that if a Teacher's car gets vandalized while at work, we pay to have it fixed? That is a pretty nice perk. How many of you get that perk, where if your car is damaged at your job then they pay to fix it?

Explain to me why a public school district spends close to a half a million dollars on marketing? If you had a good product, you wouldn't have to try and sell it to the taxpayers in your district.

"Taxpayers can judge for themselves. Here's a link to the 'CRG Network’s Web site' You can search for specific 'MPS Expenses' even the money spent by your kids' schoo" - WTMJ

Milwaukee Postal Worker Delivers & Smokes Cocaine

"The arrest came after police say they were investigating a postal worker out delivering mail, and witnessed her deliver and use crack cocaine on the job, while you, the taxpayers, are paying her salary." - WTMJ Story

Sandra Winkler, 51, was caught delivering and using Cocaine. This story is going to get more interesting I am sure.

"The criminal complaint alleges Winkler delivered crack cocaine to her daughter from her mail truck on South 38th Street. Police say they caught the daughter using the drugs while*driving, with her toddler in the car." - WTMJ

What a family. In cases like this you only hope they through the book at them both.

MPS Wastes your Money

WTMJ reportedly has some investigative reporting on MPS tonight at 10pm that is sure to make your blood boil.

This on the hills of the huge tax increase that they voted for. We will update after the report airs.

Don't miss it.

Pabst Complex Transformation

With Millions of Dollars going into transforming old run down areas of Milwaukee, why does the City continue to cut off it's nose.

With all of the good things that are going on to improve the City, it seems that the leadership continues down a path of ruination. This is the chance to reinvigorate the city, yet we see them putting together the sick leave law, trying to raise taxes, everything that drives businesses and citizens away.

Sick Leave Law to be Challenged

"The Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC) has authorized a legal challenge to the City of Milwaukee's new law requiring employers to provide paid sick leave for their employees" - WTMJ

This will be a good thing. Laws shouldn't be required to force employers to provide benefits to it's employees. This is a part of the Benefit package and each employer should decide, not the Government.

Execs Refuse Year-End Bonuses?

Top Goldman Execs Refuse Year-End Bonuses

That is the headline of the CBS News Story.

" Goldman Sachs Group Inc. CEO Lloyd Blankfein and six other top executives at the bank will not be receiving cash or stock bonuses for 2008, a spokesman said Sunday.

The decision was made by the seven executives themselves, said spokesman Lucas Van Praag, and approved Sunday by the Wall Street firm's compensation committee. The executives made the decision "because they think it's the right thing to do," Van Praag said." - CBS News

Excuse me a minute while I spit the doggy doo out of my mouth. Are you kidding me? The refused the bonuses because it's the right thing to do? These are the Executives? They are the ones who ran the business into the ground so we could bail it out? Why in the Hell is it even an option for any of them to get bonuses of any kind!!!!!????

WOW!!!! I am so glad that Congress made sure that there would be some oversight on this load of crappy crap crap.

Doyle still Governor, for now

It is bad news so far for us here in Wisconsin, Jim Doyle is still our Governor and says he has not talked to Obama about a job in the new administration.

It gets worse when it is widely speculated that he will make a run as at a third term as our Governor.

We'll have to keep watching, hopefully he will be lured away to DC.

Obama's Chief of Staff & Freddie Mac

"President-elect Barack Obama's newly appointed chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, served on the board of directors of the federal mortgage firm Freddie Mac at a time when scandal was brewing at the troubled agency and the board failed to spot "red flags," according to government reports reviewed by ABCNews.com. " - ABC News Story

Is this the Change that we were all seeking in Washington? This guy sat on the Board of one of the Institutions that have contributed to the one of the biggest crashes in economic history.

"...the entire board was later accused by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) of having "failed in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention." - ABC News

Is this going to be Change for the good, or for the bad?

Woman turns in Illegal due to Homesale issues

"At the end, do I feel bad the family got in trouble? No, not at all," she said. - Fox News Story

Nicole Griffin turned in Lorenzo Jimenez and family for being in the country illegally. Now I am all for making sure that people who come into this country come in legally, but come on this lady isn't about doing the right thing, she just wants revenge.

Everything was all good for Nicole Griffin when the house was up for sale and she was getting what she wanted. It wasn't until she found out that she could bully Lorenzo around that she decided to go to the Authorities. Even though I agree with the fact that Lorenzo should have done the right thing and get legalized, I think it is a sad day that Ms. Griffin pulls this kind of stuff.

I think that Nicole Griffin is no better than your common criminal by trying to hold this over their head for her gain.

Mother Turns in Children

This was a great story. WTMJ is reporting about a Mother who turned in her Teen daughter and son to police in a gas station Robbery.

"Milwaukee Police Capt. David Zibolski says the mother saw video of Thursday's armed robbery at Citgo Ajit Gas & Go on West Hopkins Street and recognized her 16-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter. She called police Friday after seeing the video on a local TV station." - WTMJ

If we had more Parents like this around here then we could easily take back the communities that seem lost. Every News Cast that comes on you see the crimes that are taking place around here. I always sit and wonder how these things don't seem to be resolved quickly. Very rarely is there something that happens where someone does not see it. What is it with people who would rather just not say something and let these people get away with it? If everyone got together and said we aren't going to take it anymore, be vigilant and let the police know what is going on it wouldn't take long to shut this down.

I say we all should praise this Mother and she is Mother of the year for doing the right thing.

Should we Bail out the Auto Industry

The Big 3 in Michigan say that they are in emergency need of a bailout. They are looking for between $25-$50 Billion Dollars. Obama says we should do, Pelosi wants it done, Congress isn't so sure. What should happen?

I am against the Government spending our tax dollars to bail out any industry. If the Government is in the business of saving people from themselves, how come we don't help people who over extend themselves with credit card debt, buy too big of a house, buy that car that just cost too much. I could use a bailout.

I understand that if we allow them to go under, it will be a big hit on the economy, but really how much worse can things get? As bad as things are, wouldn't it be better to take the hit now and restructure these failing businesses?

The Auto Industry is in trouble because of how they do business. Toyota and Nissan seem to be doing OK. No, they are not doing great, but they are not ready to fold. The biggest problem I have is when a majority of the money goes to the overpaid people of the union. It costs approximately $71 an hour on average for each worker in the Big 3, compared to $42 an hour for the others. A majority goes to paying Retirement and Health benefits.

Before you go sending them my hard earned money, lets get this business model in line with a philosophy that will prosper in the long run. The Auto Industry has been in trouble for years. The Union has priced themselves out of the Market, now they don't want to flex to get back in line to help the ailing industry survive. Why wouldn't it be a smarter move to file for Bankruptcy and restructure. Get rid of these bad union deals that are killing the American Auto Industry? Doesn't it make you wonder why you can buy a comparable auto from overseas and get more options for less? They don't have the ridiculous overhead of the Union.

“If we subsidize General Motors now so it doesn't go under in 2009, it will go under in 2011. But when it does, it won't disappear. The factories won't go away. It will go through bankruptcy reorganization and a new company will emerge that makes the same cars, but with much lower costs and much better competitive prospects,” economist Peter Morici said. - WISN Story

I say that we let the American Auto Industry as it is today go into non existence. It won't take long for the Industry to rise from the ashes and hopefully with some intelligence to not allow the same type of greed from the Union take them down. All of the workers that will temporarily be unemployed will need to adjust to the lower wages. When you are overpaid, then you have to know that the day is going to come when you are going to have to decide to either work for the Market wages or not work at all.

I say no to the bail out, when it is all said and done, maybe American Automakers will be able to build vehicles that are priced within the Market. If done right, the overhead will go down, the cars will be in line with the competition, and sales will thrive with more profit and everyone will win.

Packers get Win vs Chicago

The Packers got an impressive win by blasting the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field. With the win the Packers sit tied atop the NFC North Division.

By the way, the Titans have now improved to 10-0 and will face the Jets and Packer Fans beloved Brett Favre. Hopefully I can report 11-0 next week, but it won't be a bad thing to get a loss sometime soon to take off the pressure of trying to go undefeated.
