Sales up for Black Friday

"Sales on the day after Thanksgiving rose to $10.6 billion, according to preliminary figures released Saturday by ShopperTrak RCT Corp., a Chicago-based research firm that tracks sales at more than 50,000 retail outlets.

Last year, shoppers spent about $10.3 billion on the day after Thanksgiving, dubbed Black Friday because it was historically the sales-packed day when retailers would become profitable for the year." - Fox News Story

Could the horrendous economy making a comeback?

Here Comes the Snow

It is that time of the year again. At least we got pretty much through Thanksgiving.

Starting Sunday and lasting throughout the evening and into the overnight hours we can see our first real accumulation of snow.

Milwaukee South will bear the brunt of the storm.

Bailout Total could Rise to $7.5 Trillion

"The government's financial bailout will be the most expensive single expenditure in American history, potentially costing around $7.5 trillion -- or half the value of all the goods and services produced in the United States last year." - ABC News

Back to our little math worksheet. $7.5 Trillion, divided by125,225,901 voters. If the bailout money was divided amongst every single person who voted in the US during this last election for President, each and every voter would have received over $59,000. Tell me that wouldn't have helped the economy? I sure know that it would of helped in my house hold. Between my Wife and I we would have received nearly $120,000 and we would have been in great shape. Debt free except for the house, and money put away for the kids college funds.

Something just isn't right with this picture?

Obama's Economic Team - A Team of Change?

It doesn't appear that the type of change that Obama was talking about on the Campaign trail is the same type of change that he is going to institute in Washington. Most of his picks for his team have been long time Politicians that served in the Clinton Administration, or in Congress.

Now his economic team bears strikingly similar resemblance to what we have or had.

Geithner means “More of the same… more bailouts, more lack of transparency in the bailouts, and more corporate welfare. … In choosing Geither, Obama might as well have nominated Hank Paulson to another term!” - Fox News Story

Packers & Titans

Not a good week for either team. The Titans dropped their first of the year, to the New York Jets. They didn't look to be in it from the very beginning.

The Packers looked horrible Monday night against the Saints. Can you say, "What the hell happened!!!" They looked like a whole different team after halftime.

Oh well we got next week. The Packers better get on a roll or they could get left out of the Playoffs. The Titans should rebound with a win against the Lions on Thanksgiving.

Islamist Fighters set to Attack Pirates

"Piracy, which is a capital offense under Islam, has reportedly angered the Shehab, a militant Islamist group that controls much of southern and central Somalia and rejects an internationally-backed peace process.

The Islamist group has threatened to launch an attack on the pirates if they do not release the tanker and has positioned their fighters in and around the city of Harardhere in recent days, according to the AFP.

"If the pirates want peace, they had better release the tanker," Sheikh Ahmed, a spokesman for the Shebab group in the coastal region of Harardhere, reportedly told the AFP by phone." - Fox News Story
