Dems not Happy with Obama

"He's going to have to be more assertive than he's been," House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank, D-Mass., told consumer advocates Thursday. - CBS News

The Democrats don't seem to be to thrilled with the hands off approach of President Elect Obama. They want him to get engaged!

"The Obama team has to step up," Sen. Christopher Dodd, chairman of the Senate Banking Committee and one of the lead negotiators, said Nov. 21 in Hartford, Conn. "In the minds of the people, this is the Obama administration. I don't think we can wait until January 20." - CBS News

"It would be very helpful if the president-elect would become more involved in resolving the issue over the source of the funds," he said. "I want him to offer his assistance. He is a person who can really bring people together." - Carl Levin, MI - CBS News

"It is a grave mistake to assume that parties are irrelevant to this process," he said. "My one difference with the president-elect, about whom I am very enthusiastic, is when he talks about being post-partisan.

"Having lived with this very right wing Republican group that runs the House most of the time, the notion of trying to deal with them as if we could be post-partisan gives me post-partisan depression," Frank said.

So it looks like this is going to be rather interesting. Is he going to be the President of Change?

Big 3 still begging for Cash

While the Big 3 Automakers are in Washington begging for cash, I thought I would post some comments from people about this. You already know how I feel about the whole mess.

"Hey Mr. Nardelli? Shouldn''t you have addressed this YEARS ago when it was all too obvious that the American car companies were falling behind the Asian ones? Why are you JUST NOW grasping this?? You have no one to blame but yourselves for being short-sighted, greedy, money-grabbers."

"I agree with Henius... in the long run, we put/left the elected officials in office. Either way you look at the auto request of bailout, unless we force our representatives to go after what their constituents demand, it''s our fault."

"WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!

If there is a Japenese Auto plant in your state YOUR CONGRESS PERSON WILL VOTE AGAINST THE AMERICAN AUTO BAILOUT in favor of the JAPANESE KARETSU...The CONGRESS PEOPLE are "CUFFED" by the JAPANESE THIS IS WHY BUSH SAYS GO THE ENERGY ROUTE BECAUSE THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE A CONGRESSIONAL VOTE JUST AN APPLICATION.

This plan was hatched in 1991----DRIVE THE AMERICAN AUTO INDUSTRY OUT OF BUSINESS BY PLAYING STATES AGAINST ONE ANOTHER. " - OK so this person is smoking some of that good old home grown. WOW!!!

"It''s not about the CEOs. If that were the case, then we as Americans should have voted everyone out of Congress this past November. But As usual, us dumb, believe anything culture just votes them back in. The mess the auto industry is in is based on the mortgage/banking industry''s bad "gambling" judgement. Just like Enron, if its too good to be true, then it''s not. The past few years of growth were a pipe dream that is now a nightmare. Where were all these smart Senators then?"

"Let see Union''s not going to give up their Bank or their wages or huge benifits. Company can only give up so much. This all equals no change in company. this is the biggest Dog and Pony show just to cover the fact that Congress is still going to give them the money at our expense. You can''t be so stupid not to believe that Nancy and the boys are not getting something under the table for their efforts. Nothing is free in Washington, everything is for sell, especially in Congress."

Whitnall Schools to get Police Liason

"A police liaison will likely return to the Whitnall schools early next year.

Whitnall Superintendent Karen Petric said a sworn officer would be assigned to the schools shortly after the winter holidays. " - Greenfieldnow.com

It has been a while, almost a year, since the Whitnall School District had a liason. However the Greenfield Schools had one all along.

With the problems the school has been having with drugs you would have thought there would have been a quicker response.

US Attorney Resigns

US Attorney Biskupic stepping down at the beginning of next year. WTMJ Reports

"In his six years as a federal prosecutor, Biskupic won a number of high-profile convictions against public officials, including former state Sen. Gary George, D-Milwaukee. George was sentenced in 2004 to four years in federal prison after pleading guilty to running a kickback scheme involving a Milwaukee social service agency.

Biskupic also successfully prosecuted former Milwaukee aldermen Paul Henningsen and Alderman Mike McGee Jr.

Henningsen was sentenced to 33 months for embezzling from his campaign fund and falsifying campaign finance reports. McGee was sentenced to 6 1/2 years in federal prison on charges including bribery and extortion.

Biskupic said Tuesday his only regret was that he didn't pursue public corruption cases more aggressively. He said trust in government is paramount, and he hoped the convictions he did win made a difference.

"I hope I helped people in Milwaukee and the Eastern District have a better life," he said." - WTMJ

I think he did an outstanding job of helping to clean up the politics around here, but I don't think he did quite enough. He should have been more agressive.

Here it comes again!!!

Here comes the snow. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Tomorrow from 6am til 8pm. We can expect between 3-5 more inches.

This is a great start to the Winter Weather Season. I love Wisconsin!!!!

Lake Delton set to Come back

Lake Delton, which emptied on June 9, 2008 after heavy rains and flood waters cut a whole to the river, is set to start refilling as early as this week.

Engineers and construction workers started an intense program of rebuilding and strengthening the area so that they could get the businesses back up and operating as quickly as possible.

Now less than a year later, they are set to start refilling the lake. They believe the lake could be refilled as early as May of 2009.
