Obama succeeded in convincing Democrats today to drop a provision in the bill that would expand family planning funding, something Republicans had objected to. But deleting the provision did not make Republicans sound more willing to vote for the bill. - ABC News
Whether you like the Republicans or not, this was something that had to be pushed back into the lap of the Democrats. This was plain and simple pork!!! There is just no way that you could have justified this as part of an Economic Stimulus.
