The Milwaukee Brewers have been making moves over the weekend to see what they can muster for the 2015 season.
After deciding to keep manager Ron Roenicke the Brewers have to of known that they would need to make some moves to smooth over the fans after an epic collapse of the team in 2014.
Over the weekend they made a trade to fill a void they had all year. Trading Pitcher Marco Estrada to Toronto for 1st Baseman Adam Lind. Estrada had come up short for the Brewers and 1st base was by committee all year. The 1st base spot was dead last in offensive production in 2014. Now with Adam Lind, the Brewers have added a left handed bat changes the OPS from .629 during the last two years to .856 for Lind.
Last year Lind batted .321 and had 40 RBI's and 6 Home Runs. He also had an on base percentage of .381. This is a big improvement for the Brewers.
The Brewers and Aramis Ramirez also exercised their options to keep him at 3rd Base for the Crew next year. This was a question mark at the end of the season and one that I think most fans wanted resolved with Ramirez staying in Milwaukee. Job well done.
The Brewers also have exercised the option with Yovani Gallardo.
The Brewers also made a move with Rickie Weeks that most fans have been waiting on for the last few years. The did not pick up his option. Weeks showed signs of stardom while here in Milwaukee, but just never could put together a full season to compliment what the Brewers were paying him. Many fans are happy to see him go and open some money to make a move for the team.
