Tuesday morning a contingent of 100 FBI Agents and 75 Police Officers conducted a large sweep of Milwaukee's North side.
The operation was seeking to locate and apprehend 21 individuals on warrants. The individuals were all suspected members involved in violent gang activity.
This was the first operation of the FPB-MPD Gang Task Force that was formed in October to combat the growing crime problem.
The key to this will be to monitor the persons that are apprehended and how they are handled by the Milwaukee DA and the Milwaukee Justice system. Both are well known for being lenient on criminals and negotiating light sentences or plea bargains. Arresting these people is only the beginning.
