Buck's Owners Negotiating to Buy Land for Arena

The good news is that the new Milwaukee Bucks Owners are fully involved in trying to get a new Arena in Downtown Milwaukee.  They aren't just sitting back and pushing for it, they are full throttle ahead involved.

It is the type of commitment that I think will make the public commit to helping make it happen.

Usually Ownership involvement consists of the Owners just threatening to move the team to a new city or state if they don't get what they want.  Not with these Owners.  They are All In.

Todays TMJ Story

The Milwaukee Bucks' co-owners are reportedly attempting to buy the property that is the corporate home of Journal Communications and the main offices of the Journal Sentinel.
According to an OnMilwaukee.com report, co-owners Wes Edens and Marc Lasry would buy the land and buildings which encompass the space between North 3rd and 4th Streets, and between west Kilbourn and State Streets.  They would then use that land to build a new arena for the Milwaukee Bucks.

The land is also used by Major Goolsby's, a famous sports bar.

In its story, OnMilwaukee.com cites several sources which it says come from the Milwaukee Department of City Development and the real estate industry.  They also say there are architectural plans for that site.

The arena would theoretically not just be home for the Bucks, but Marquette men's basketball, the Milwaukee Admirals, numerous concerts and other sports and entertainment events.

According to the OnMilwaukee.com report, the Bucks are still looking into numerous possible downtown Milwaukee sites, but the Journal Sentinel location is their preferred site.
