Michael Vick to work Construction

NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia (CNN) -- Suspended NFL quarterback Michael Vick will go to work for a construction company in Newport News, Virginia, after he leaves federal prison for bankrolling a dogfighting operation, his lawyer said Thursday.

The details emerged in a Chapter 11 confirmation hearing in Virginia Eastern Bankruptcy Court to determine how Vick, 28, will emerge from bankruptcy.

Vick's lawyer, Michael Blumenthal, told the court that the embattled footballer will take the stand and explain how he intends to turn over a new leaf and transition back to society after spending nearly two years in prison on a federal conspiracy charge.

The parties involved in the hearing, which could run until Friday, will present evidence and testimony in an effort to convince the judge that the plan qualifies for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Vick's plan to work 40 hours for WM Jordan, a construction company based in Newport News, is not part of the official 61-page agreement tentatively worked out between's Vick's lawyers and numerous creditors.

A message left for W.M. Jordan's president and CEO, John R. Lawson, was not immediately returned. - CNN Story

It is good to see that he has turned over a new leaf and was able to get a job. How do you get a job right out of jail when so many people are out of work?

Wait a minute here. Mike Tyson rapes someone and gets reinstated to box, the investment bankers get bailout money and bonuses and are not held accountable for ruining peoples lives around the world but Mike Vick fights dogs and he may not get a reprieve? This guy stood up and accepted blame and served his time unlike so many others that have and will recieve a pass and the NFL might not give him reinstatement!! Heck folks the only thing Mike's crimes huirt were animals, and that's bad but what about the folks that hurt so many humans? A little perspective here please.

He stood up and accepted blame? did he have any other choice? you don't get bonus points for admitting guilt after the fact. And you are going to have to do better than tyson. Ms. Washington is a shady character at best..not saying MT is a saint but come on..this one was not as cut and dry as you might think. Besides the dogs didn't go looking for trouble...but that little gold digger did.

Who cares. He would have never been out of prison had I been on the jury. He is about One Step above OBAMA.

Michael Vick still is nothing more than a two bit thug hoping to make profit on anything without moral values, no common sense, no integrity and no honor. If some football team is stupid enough to land them then they had better realize that most of their fans will walk away from their tickets and hold the football team in contempt. The loss of funds will be much higher than the thoughts of getting a player back.
When a person can hold a living creature in his hands and tell it that it lost him money and then beat it to death and feel no remorse or shame then that person is damaged goods and can not change. He still has the dark sole that does not leave.
One can look at past criminals such as Jeff Dahmer who started killing cats and dogs and then moved on to humans because he too had no sole or morality.
Michael Vick you should of gotten 25 years to life for the heinous crimes and deserve a minimum wage job for life for being plain ignorant and selfless.

Written on behalf of all the dogs you beat, killed and bet on for profit because you are nothing but a selfless thug!

Yeah the kind of jury that wears all white and enjoys burning crosses. If he is one step above Obama that puts you a 100 or so below you stupid redneck peckerwood.
