Chris Larson or Chris Abele?

The County Exec looks to be open at this point.  Chris Abele has outspent his opponent by 2-1 and still lost in the Primary by a slim margin.

Why is it so close between two Democrats?

Chris Abele has been spending a ton of money trying to show all of the great things that he has done for Milwaukee County.  How he has saved the Milwaukee Bucks, Helped Single Fathers, Improved about everything in the County.

Chris Larson hasn't had to spend a whole lot of money to get his point across.  The nightly news stories do it all for him.  He then just has to pound the point home in speeches.  Abele's personal vendetta against Sheriff Clark has proven an obstacle Abele hasn't been able to answer.  Crime is skyrocketing in the County and Abele keeps taking money away from the Sheriff.  He claims he is making law enforcement better.  He tried to take away law enforcement duties of the Airport from the Sheriff, taking away manpower, taking away funding.  By the way did you see the big crime spree at the Airport Recently?  How about the disaster at the Mitchell Domes?  How about the concrete falling off the Milwaukee County Courthouse?

Larson doesn't need to spend money to show the unaddressed problems in Milwaukee County.  The News does it for him.  Abele decided to be an opponent of the Sheriff instead of working with him to better the County.  Now he has real problems and no real help.

Russ Feingold Doesn't Remember Trying to Stop a Supreme Court Nominee

It just totally amazes me how politicians from both parties forget so quickly how they treated the other side when they had the power.  Now it appears that the Democrats forgot all about how they treated then President Bush when he had a Nominee to the Supreme Court.

Now conveniently President Obama himself says that he regrets trying to hold up Bush's nominee when he was a Senator.  Russ Feingold even seems to forget.

Right Wisconsin:
Feingold said it’s “irresponsible not to consider” a nomination to the Supreme Court by President Barack Obama. He also said to Gousha about considering Supreme Court nominees when he was a senator, “In all cases, we ended up in an expeditious manner, taking up full consideration of them.”

I have said it many times, be careful how you act and do things when you have the power, because it will come back and haunt you when you don't.   If it is OK for you to act one way when you have power, then you better be ready to suck it up when you don't and the other side does the exact same thing back to you.

The Democrats are all up in arms now that there is an opening on the Supreme Court and Republicans have the power to stop any nomination by President Obama.  They just can't believe that anyone would attempt to do that.  How wrong it is.  How un-American it is.  How downright spiteful it is.  Yeah, forget that we did it.  Forget that we were wrong, forget how un-American we were, forget how spiteful we were.  Now it matters.

Right Wisconsin:

Of course, in 2007 Feingold didn’t have any issue with Congress sitting on Bush’s appointments until after the president left office. As the Weekly Standard points out, “In late 2007, the Harry Reid-led Senate had a backlog of more than 200 appointments that it had failed to act on, including dozens of judges. In order to prevent Bush from filling any of those slots with recess appointments, Reid started holding 30 second ‘pro-forma’ sessions over the holidays so the Senate would technically be in session and the president would be constitutionally prohibited from making recess appointments.”
Feingold issued not one word of protest at the time about how Democratic senators were not doing their jobs “on behalf of the American people.” It wasn’t even the election year yet and Feingold did not talk about the sacred duty of the Senate to consider the president’s nominations or the importance of not waiting two years to fill these vacancies.

It sure would be nice to see real adults in Washington who care more about US, The American People than their party of choice.

Wisconsin local Elections Interesting Results

Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele looked like he was going to cruise to re-election this year.  To be honest I even thought he would.  I have only seen his ads on TV and on the Radio.  They have made me laugh at some of the stuff that he is taking credit for, but still, it appeared he was the only one running a campaign.  However after yesterday's primary, he has some serious reasons to worry.

Chris Larson was the biggest vote winner for the election.  This will now be an interesting election to watch and Chris Abele has to be wondering what happened.

The Mayoral Race also looks like it might actually be a real race.  I think most people thought that Tom Barrett was going to cruise to re-election.  Most people couldn't understand why he was getting an easy path to re-election, but it appeared he was.  The voters may have sent a signal yesterday that it isn't going to be as easy as we all thought.  Yes he won the primary, but he failed to garner 50% and if Bob Donovan can convert some of the other competitors supporters, Barrett will be in trouble.

Cam Newton Not Just a Sore Loser

I have to tell you, I watched the Super Bowl.  I really am not a fan of either team.  However as we got closer to the game I really started getting behind the Denver Broncos.  I had watched all the Highlights of the antics of one Cam Newton.  His celebrations of getting first downs, his antics every time he scored.  I thought to myself, someone needs to show him how it is really done.  With Class!!!!

It was the improbable.  The Broncos were underdogs.  Cam Newton's Panthers were the best offense in the NFL.  He was MVP!!!!

Cam Newton, meet the Denver Broncos.  They not only got in his face all game, they made him make mistake after mistake after mistake.  He fumbled to give the Broncos a Touch Down on Defense.  He later fumbled and didn't even try to recover it, giving the Bronco's a short field to another Touch Down.  His team not only loss the game, he was manhandled.

Then to show that he may have had a great year with the Panthers, he not an MVP.  He lost and showed no class along the way. He should look at the Peyton Mannings, Tom Bradys, Russel Wilsons.  All Super Bowl losers and still showed class.

Cam Newton, Welcome to the NFL.

What is up with Gateway Middle School in Killeen, TX

What is going on with our schools?  A young girl has an asthma attack in class and the Teacher responds by sending an email to the school nurse?

What in the hell are they thinking.  We have a medical emergency in the class room that could be a matter of life and death, the emergency procedure is to send an email and await a response?

If you think that is the worst part of what this school did, you would sadly be mistaking.

Instead of waiting on the nurse to respond to the email, 15 year old Anthony Ruelas took matters into his own, obviously much more mature than the teacher, hands and picked up the girl and carried her to the nurses office to get help.  The Teacher said he disobeyed her and the boy was suspended.

You can't make this stuff up.  The school actually suspended the boy for helping the girl out!!!

I guess in this school what they want to teach is, don't help others.

Schools and Teachers wonder why they get a bad rap.  Why people complain and have no sympathy for them.  It is situations like this that are not that uncommon.  Just like everything, the bad schools and Administrations that make all schools look bad.

This young man should not only have not been suspended, he should have been given an commendation for a job well done.  As for someone being suspended, I believe you need to look at the Teacher and whomever decided the student should be suspended.  The Teacher most definitely needs disciplined and the person making the decision on the Student severely needs disciplined.

I want to say thank you to Anthony Ruelas!!!!  Your actions are the actions that we wish all people had.  You helped someone out in their time of need and that is AWESOME!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

WIAA Ruining High School Sports

What is this world coming to?  I have watched as we have seriously ruined sports at the youth and HS level.

First we went down the road of everyone gets a trophy.  We didn't want to leave anyone out or hurt their feelings.  Sign up and you get a trophy.  Don't have to try hard, don't have to learn to play, don't have to do anything.  Here's your trophy kid, your a winner.

Now the WIAA has decided that the chants that have been around for decades all of a sudden are bad.  They are disrespectful and hurtful.  I have watched generations of kids grow up to be fine outstanding citizens and they heard the chants.  Yet now they are evil?

Maybe we should start teaching life lessons and quit trying to protect everyone's feelings.  These kids need to start learning at a young age to grow thick skin, work hard and earn things.  The WIAA isn't going to be there to protect you from things for the rest of your life.

There are some things that should be addressed.  Lets quit going completely overboard.

The WIAA simply got this completely wrong.  They have gone too far.  They deserve the blowback that they are receiving.  The problem is, they are so full of themselves that they won't even listen to reason.

Clinton's Email Problem Grows, Will it Explode before Election?

It seems that the Clinton Email issue just won't go away.  Those darn Republicans.  Wait...It isn't the Republicans?  It's the FBI!!!

The FBI is now not only still working on the illegal classified emails that Clinton had on her personal server, they are now looking more deeply into corruption.  How things were handled between the State Department and the Clinton Foundation.  Seems that they are finding more and more overlap and sources are saying it is significant.

2015 Deadly Year in Milwaukee

We rang in the new year and shut the door on 2015.  145 Homicides in Milwaukee.

Will 2016 be a safer year in Milwaukee?

It sure doesn't appear that if you live in Milwaukee that there is any chance that things will be safer or better unless you are a criminal.  The Police Chief and the Mayor both blame politics for the crime spree affecting Milwaukee.  It is the gun laws that are creating this disaster, they say.

I am always amazed that after every shooting we here people and politicians come out and want more gun legislation.  As if people think that laws will stop criminals!  They do know that the definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law, right?

Milwaukee's crime problem isn't going to get any better until the Mayor and Police Chief recognize the real problems in Milwaukee and start to do something about it.

Watching "Making a Murderer"

Like many people out there, I have been watching the Netflix Documentary "Making a Murderer.

I was here during the actual events and can recall at the time that I was confused about the guilt or innocence of both Steve Avery and Brendan Dassey.  There always seemed to be a lot of inconsistencies in the events and the story that the Prosecutor told kept changing.  The Defense also kept changing the story repeatedly.

Now watching the series I think that there are many more questions that seem to never be answered.  I still can't say whether I believe in the guilt or innocence of these two.  What has been more questionable is some of the actions by law enforcement and the Prosecutor.  Much of these questions never have been answered and really should have to be.

PS: For those that watched the Documentary, What the heck kind of a lawyer was Len Kachinsky?

Failed Obamacare Co-ops Cost us $1B

So the greatest accomplishment of the Democrats and President Obama is still eating away at taxpayer money?

Not only has it failed to lower rates, most people lost or had their current Insurance plans reduced in what they covered.  The old saying "if you like your insurance plan, you can keep your insurance plan", was simply not true at all.  Many people liked their insurance plan and they either lost it, had it changed dramatically for the worse, or they had to pay significantly more to keep it.

Now we find out that 23 co-ops set up to handle insurance under Obamacare will fold and not provide insurance anymore.  We taxpayers funded them to the tune of $1 Billion that most experts say we will never get back.

So how is this Obamacare thing going?  I guess Nancy Pelosi was right, they passed the bill and we are seeing what it really was all about.
