The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Closely Held companies being required to provide Birth Control.
There will be a lot of the talking heads that will blast the Supreme Court. Stop and take a look at this from a practical stand point and use your common sense.
If you start a company why shouldn't you be allowed to run it based on your beliefs? You already have to pay a minimum wage, provide health care, provide a safe workplace and follow a whole host of other regulations. Why should you also have to violate your religious beliefs and provide something that goes against those beliefs? This is your company. You built it from the ground up. It is not a publicly traded company.
Every employee that works for you does this by their choice. If they don't like it and think that birth control should be provided have every right to go and find a job that provides it. They are not forced to work there.
I am not sure why or how it became an employers job to provide us with protection against ourselves. Birth Control and Abortion is an individuals choice and shouldn't be the responsibility of businesses especially if it violates their religious beliefs.
Planned Parent Hood is all for mandatory coverage. Why is that? Not that hard to figure that one out. They say it is because they care about women. They probably do. Most of us do. Could it be because they also care about the funding that it provides? In 2011 the President of Plan Parenthood made close to $400,000. Pretty good for a non-profit.
I believe that women should have the right to choose. I believe the Government should not tell them what they can and can not do when it comes to abortion. I also do not believe that the Government should tell a privately run Company that they don't have a right to choose.
