The NCAA has always put money ahead of actually deciding who is really the best Football Team in College Football. The Money Talks in College sports and this year has been no exception.
If you are truly out to put the best teams in the Playoff to decide who is the real National Champion, how do you put in a team that can't even win their own Conference?
Georgia was the SEC Champion. They deserved to be there. Conference Champions. Oklahoma had a right to be there. Conference Champions. Clemson had a right to be there. Conference Champions.
How do you pick Alabama to even get a shot at the title? Especially when you have a team in UCF who beat every team they played. And, beat them all pretty easily. They even beat the only team to beat both teams in the supposed National Championship game.
Yes you can say, well Alabama must have deserved to be there because they won it all. If that is your argument then you have a pretty weak argument. Any team could have won it all, that is why they play the games. The question really is, who deserved to be there. Alabama did not.
UCF deserved to be there more than any other team in the playoff. They didn't get there because they aren't a big school with lots of money. I have heard, well they didn't play anyone of real significance. Point taken. But they beat Memphis who was a top 25 team by 27 points in the regular season, they beat South Florida who was a top 21 team and again Memphis and lastly top 10 Auburn. How did they not play anyone of real significance?
Oh I forgot, Alabama played and beat a ton of teams of real significance. Wait!? No they didn't. They beat a top 18 team by 14 and a top 19 team by 7. They lost to a top 10 team by 12? yet they deserved to be in the playoff over UCF?
UCF has claimed the title of National Champions. I say well done UCF and yes you are a better team that Alabama. Congrats UCF on your Championship and congrats on Alabama for being given yet another title by the NCAA that you didn't deserve.
